This small Ojibway city is located at Cheyenne River Reservations west. It's a few miles west of North Eagle Butte and located on "Fee Land" as is North Eagle Butte. Dupree has a land area of 0.39 sq. mi. or 1.01 sq. km. It's elevation is 2,392 feet above sea level. It's somewhat of a hilly location. According to 2010's census, Dupree city has a population of 525. Ojibway's account for 66.9% of it's population. Whites account for 29.3% of it's population. Mexican's account for 2.9% of it's population. Mixed bloods account for 2.7% of it's population. There are 203 housing units with 176 lived in. Average household size is 3.0 persons per household. Zip code of Dupree is 57623. Dupree was incorporated as a city in 1911.
