It is a community of Torres-Martinez Reservation. Torres is located 2.3 miles southwest of Mecca, California which is also a community of Torres-Martinez Reservation. I have no idea what the demographics including population, of the Torres-Martinez community of Torres is. Using google maps I counted over 200 housing units at Torres. The population is probably between 600 and 800. I named this settlement Torres after the name of Torres-Martinez. According to the 2020 census the population of Torres-Martinez Reservation is 3,454. Natives account for 10.8% of the population. Mexicans 92.2%. Whites 12.5%. Mixed bloods 21.0%. Asians 0.7%. Blacks 0.2%. There is a race identification problem at Torres-Martinez. It's because of Mexicans. The United States is continuing to violate Mexicans each census. Most Mexicans living at Torres-Martinez Reservation are natives. They've sent many Mexicans to live at Torres-Martinez Reservation to brainwash natives. Climate conditions at Torres are desert conditions. Summers are very hot while winters are warm. Nearly all days are clear or partly cloudy. That allows for warm winters! Elevation of Torres is -196 feet below sea level. Though it's below sea level (elevation is almost same as Furnace Creek) it's not as hot as Death Valley. On the west are tall mountains. To escape hot summers they only need to drive up the mountains to elevations reaching 8,000 feet or higher. Those tall mountains extend from north of San Bernardino to near the Mexico border. Below are several google earth photos of Torres.
