It is capital of Blackfeet Reservation. Below are links to google earth photos of North Browning. Adjacent to it on it's south is Browning. On it's extreme southwest, North Browning is adjacent to South Browning. There are several housing clusters or neighborhoods that make up North Browning. Unlike Browning and South Browning which are located on "Fee Land," North Browning is located on "Trust Land" or land owned by Blackfeet Reservation. Most of South Browning is located on "Trust Land" yet some of it's developed land is located on "Fee Land" which gives it a capital source from taxes. Nearly all of Browning is located on "Fee Land" which is land that is subject to city, county, State and Federal Taxes. North Browning is excluded from city, county, State and Federal Taxes because it's located on "Trust Land." North Browning is more appealing to people because of it's higher housing standards. It may have few businesses yet it has appeal that attracts people that work in Browning, to settle down and live there. Most people working in Browning, rather live in Browning or North Browning. South Browning has a tarnished reputation which goes back to a time when Ojibway's settled adjacent to Browning. During those times, they named those Ojibway Settlements Moccasin Flats. Ojibway People were allowed to settle on "Trust Land" near Browning including where North Browning is situated. Most settle where South Browning is. Blackfeet Reservations Government buildings are located in North Browning. According to 2010's census, North Browning which is a CDP or census designated place, has a population of 2,408. Indians make up 95.7% of it's population. Whites make up 2.9% of it's population. There are 730 housing units with 667 lived in. Average household size is about 3.5 persons per household. North Browning has a land area of 3.83 sq. mi. or 9.91 sq. km. Including Brownings and South Browning's population with that of North Browning, total population is 5,209.
