It was supposedly set aside in 1876 for Cahuilla, Cupeno, Luiseno and Serrano People. They are, according to Garcia Cubas, Mexican-Opata who are now known as Uto-Aztecan. Garcia-Cubas classified their language as Comanche-Shoshone or Shoshonean which is Ojibway. This Reservation covers over 35,000 acres or 14,164 hectares and is located in San Gorgonio and San Juacinto Mountains. It has it's tribal offices in Banning. Of this Reservations total population of 954, 798 are Native American including mixed bloods and Hispanics. Whites accounted for 209 of this Reservations population. Blacks number 14, while Asians number 127. Population problem is over their Hispanic population conspiracy. Morongo Reservation is located in Riverside County. It's actually a part of a very large Reservation created on January 5 and January 7 of 1852. Their 1852 Reservation continues to be legitimate.
