Torres-Martinez Indian Reservation and Cahuilla and Chemehuevi Tribe Culture, History and Language

It was supposedly established in 1876 for Cahuilla and Chemehuevi People. However, American's are being deceitful. This Reservation is actually a part of a very large Reservation created on January 5 and January 7, 1852. Two treaties were signed that created this extensive Reservation. Below is a link to a map of this large Reservation and to google earth photos of three of Torres-Martinez communities. These people are Mexican-Opata or as they are now known, Uto-Aztecan. Their language is a dialect of that language family. They fought in 1846-1848's Mexican-American War. Ojibway leaders ceded most of California between 1851 and 1852, by signing 18 treaties American historians claim were lost. They are being deceitful. After signing those 18 treaties, 11,665 sq. mi. or 7,466,000 acres was set aside to be Reservations. That's why American's are being dishonest. In 1901, a judge illegally ruled they did not own this Reservation created on January 5 and January 7, 1852. They forced most Indians to relocate away from their Reservation. However, Torres-Martinez Reservation is yet within their Reservation created on January 5 and January 7, 1852. Torres-Martinez Reservation covers far more than 24,800 acres. This Reservation covers well over 3,000 sq. mi. Latest population estimate for Torres-Martinez Reservation is 4,146. Native Americans including mixed bloods and Hispanics (they number 3,821) number 4,170, while whites number 1,466. Blacks number 8. Asians number 2,315. A total population of 7,959 exists but their official population is 4,146. Population problem is over their Hispanic population conspiracy. Native Americans number 195.
